Alright, I wanted to wait until things were set before I made my little announcement...
I'm going to South Korea!! Wheee!!
Teaching ESL is something I've been interested in for a while, and I always loved Val's stories about her time teaching and living in South Korea. And Alex doing it first kind of gave me an extra boost, too.
I got confirmation of a position there. It's in Cheongju City, which is in central SK, about an hour and a half south of Seoul. It will be starting at the end of September.
I'm really excited about it, and waiting for a call from the school tonight to find out a lot of specifics.
Unfortunately, Ben will be staying here, so we'll have to go a long time without seeing each other. We're trying to plan at least one trip back for me, and maybe a few out for him.
I've told my family (and my extended family at our family reunion yesterday), and they're all pretty excited.
So, I'm looking forward to this adventure, but I know it's going to be tough sometimes. It'll be really good for me, though, and I'm looking forward to learning Korean and doing lots of new things.
