Anyone catch Johnny Depp on Letterman last night? Could he be any more gorgeous? Sounds like they're already working on PotC3.
We saw Lady in the Water yesterday. Response to this one has been all over the scale. It was very odd, and at first the characters seemed to lack direction, but I ended up liking it. Shyamalan had a larger part in it as a pivotal character, and it's hard to deny the man is fascinating to watch. Although the plot escaped most critics, I found it's origin interesting. Apparently it was an ongoing bedtime story he made up for his kids. This isn't a "rush out and see it" recommendation by a long shot... maybe wait for cable or rental. I wonder if he'll ever be able to come close to Sixth Sense again? It was so perfect.
Finally broke through that weight-loss plateau I've been battling forever. My goal was to do that before the end of July and I barely made it. 30 lbs gone. Go me. On to the next 30.
Wednesday started with a cool morning so I just got up, walked right out to the garage, put on my gloves and grabbed the hedge clippers. Actually made a good start before it got too hot. Of course temps have since turned evil and are stuck in tripple-digits with high humidity, but I'll finish the job a little at a time. I actually kept looking out the kitchen window to gloat over my nicely trimmed hedges. Only 4 more and some edging to go. It's been so hot for so long my friend says he stopped using his pool. He swears it's reached the boiling point.
I love coming home because my dogs go all crazy like I've been gone for 5 years (even if I just took out the trash). They usually start out running shoulder-to-shoulder through the house, then separate and go different directions. There have been some near misses, but today they had a head-on crash in the living room. I'm surprised they didn't knock each other out. There were several seconds of growling but they got over it and you guessed it... started tearing through the house again.
All the news of the latest war in the middle east is so disheartening. There has to be something wrong when there are more casualties among children than soldiers.
Anatomy of a Lye is on... the first CSI I ever saw. You can bet it didn't take me long to back up and buy the S1 DVDs. Going to watch now.
