There's really nothing going on, though.  Just got back from being in Atlanta for 4 days on a hockey roadtrip. It was almost perfect, 'cept the Bolts lost in OT. But, hey - Vancouver won and I went to that game in Canucks gear.

On the way back, I was subject to listening to conservative talk radio (but I was reading homo-erotic graphic novels all ( Read more... )

I'll take single any day. At least being single, I know who I am. Similar story to cptspeedy I had a friend who was so focused on getting married and having kids that she ended up marrying the first man she dated and now she's going through a divorce and moving back with her family - the very thing she wanted to get away from in the first place. She really lost herself (and shut herself out from all of her friends) in the whole situation. So, we'll enjoy being single while we can and also enjoy being MATURE enough to educate ourselves and not get into bad situations that land us on Springer or Dr. Phil.

As for right wing thoughts, if your gonna have a family, I do agree that someone, be it a grandparent, mother, father, uncle, aunt, whatever... should be devoted to caring for the children. The problem is, our society doesn't usually allow that opportunity. Trying to pay rent or mortgage most times causes everyone in a family who can work to have to do so. It's sad that our children are commonly dumped off at rec centers and camps where the families have to depend on someone other than themselves to teach their children any life lessons or values. Oh well, at least I'm MATURE enough to realize I'm not fit to be a wife/mother right now ^_^ - and that I probably never will be and that's just fine. I really do think the decision not to marry and have kids if you know that's not right for you is wise. The last thing we need in the world is more screwed up kids being popped out by screwed up parents who rushed into things.

Oh and good choice of music; check out a Laruku song called "White Feathers"... So... When are we going to Japan again? :D
