EUReKA, and science fiction

I've been reupholstering a chair. And while I did this, I decided to catch up on some of my TV shows.

I started with /As Time Goes By/ starring Judi Dench. They show re runs on PBS on saturday nights. and Netflix had the whole series (minus the reunion specials) It was very sweet and witty.
So Netflix is recommending to me a variety of shows, and what comes up? Eureka. I LOVED Eureka and for some reason, I just couldn't remember what was the last episode I'd seen or why I stopped watching (aside from the fact that I've been avoiding SyFy like the plague.

So I watched season one, and I remembered all the episodes as I watched them, and i said to myself I must have stopped here. Then i watched season 2, and it was the same. Finally I learned I had not watched season 3.5 and the current season 4.

And with season 4 I'm in love with Eureka all over again. It's not the introduction of the Grant character, because his accent is awful and I'm sorry writers, but having him say Sport at the end of every other sentance isn't accurate history, it's imagined, people don't really talk like that, they never have, and they never will. Take a page from Mad Men's dialouge. Use outdated slang sparingly. This guy isn't a teenager.

Sorry, that was an unexpected rant. No, What I love about Eureka season 4, is that they managed to switch it up, without the death of a main character. They took a basic, every sci fi show has an episode about this topic, and then DIDN'T REESTABLISH THE STATUS QUO. And I can't wait for season 4 to resume next year :D
