I noticed the thing about god writing the bible, and I would have changed it, but schwhatever. I just thought it was an interesting quote, without really getting too deep into the actual context therein. my livejournal entries as of late haven't really been up to par with the rest, so I figured I would start a nice discussion in here, as I have been known to do in the past.

And as for evolution, and the authors of the Bible, we're not gonna really know what the answer to any of that is until one of two things happen. 1) We die. 2) The apocalypse comes in our lifetimes and, well, you know how that all works out. I'm banking more towards the former, but the latter would be a pleasant surprise. I guarantee you that when we die, there will be a very large amount of people (I'm not saying which group, because in all honesty I don't know), will be going "oh shit so THATS how it works"

If it weren't for the Catholic church and my high school Philosophical Lit class (we touched on world religions there), I probably would still be part of the faith. But the Catholic church has turned something based on belief and faith into something backed by money and scandal, and it makes me harder and harder to believe that the Catholics are the 'chosen people' when all this shit is going down.

In all honesty, I believe there's something bigger and better than we can possibly fathom out there in the universe. Perhaps we are a gross science experiment from some alien beings from another planet, or perhaps God really did put us on this earth. Or shit, maybe even Hinduism has it all right. Whatever happened, something is out there, and I feel that he/she/it has absolutely no bearing on how we live our lives. It's like taking a kid to a petting zoo, putting him in the fencing, saying "go wild," and watching him go. We have the free will to do whatever we want. We can either love and pet the animals, or pluck their feathers and bite their heads off. Human existence seems to be leaning towards the latter of the two.

So, in any case, here's how my views are summed up: Deist Existentialist
