More doll musings.
So I was wandering around this excellent bjd database type site (because DoA is down and I'm waiting for a call to see if they'll accept me into a course at TAFE that will go towards my teaching degree, I have quite an amount of time on my hands lol) and it got me thinking about the twins. Now whilst I really would like to make them, I am just not 100% sure of what they should look like...I mean I have sketches yes, but not enough to give me a clear idea. Argh...I don't think I'm even explaining this right. Okay so basically I've got down the shape of their eyes but no idea for the nose, mouth etc etc. But the thing is that I don't think I will get a clear mental image of them until their story progresses more but I am kind of at a stand still with developing their characters. Like I'm sure you all know that when a character first starts developing and you have a sense of them but the overall is still hazy, well the twins are like that. They haven't given me a full story yet, they're still handing me little drabbles every now and again and I know that having physically here and doing photostories and photoshoots and art will inspire me to get their story together (Because not only has it happened with Kaito but also with Shreds - and the little fuzzball never even had a background or a character to begin with!).
Anyway I was looking and looking and looking but nothing seemed right for them. I know that the twins must be MSD sized (could you imagine if they were any bigger!?! Carrying them around cons and to doll meets would be insane!) and that they have to look like boys but still be pretty like girls (can you tell that I love my femme boys? lmao). Anyway I had a look at Narin but he just isn't right, his head is a weird shape, he has a boring body (don't even get me started on the fact that the twins are supposed to be like 16 and he is just way too 'underdeveloped' to give off the right vibe - body wise - for them...plus he has a funny looking butt), his lips are too thin and basically he just doesn't inspire that fangirlish glee inside of me when I see him. I mean I go "Yeah he's pretty and gods is that resin gorgeous in colour and translucency." but I just don't find him right for them. Then I had an idea. I had been fawning over Unoa lusis for quite some time...yes yes I know...but she is mighty pretty. Anyway I thought that Unoa would be the perfect face for my twins (plus we can buy the optional 'O' faceplate ^_~ ConDoll here we come!) but to mod a Unoa body...well that is just something which I am not ready to do yet. So I did a little research on the Unoa boys (see B - el and L - bi), that body was perfect (heh extra points for the 'ahem' extras XD ) but to my dismay I discovered that they were only released in '05 and were kinda difficult to get your hands on (apparently...I can't check this fact coz DoA is still down). So I had a bit of a sulk and then decided to just search and fawn over more Unoa pictures to see if that was truly 100% what I wanted. I searched through Resinality and apparently the Japanese pre-order date for another release of the boys body is from the 23rd of April to the 7th of May...*dances* so perhaps the Unoa boy hasn't been ruled out for my twins yet. I know that I will definately have come to a decision as to whether or not they are right/I can afford them well before the pre-order period gets here.
I finally got Shreds back together, so I'll do a photoshoot with him at some stage and put some piccies up for you all to see (he is so damned cute XD *squees*)
