drabbles
Heh, seven drabbles today. Gots lots done, lol. There's a nice little mixture - 3 Eric/Ryan, 1 Ryan/Flack, 2 Nick/Greg and 1 starring Bobby Dawson.
#1 - Eric/Ryan - For alligator138 and persikay ; prompts: 'fallen angel' and a plotbunny I adopted (after a long conversation about how I wasn't going to adopt it - and it didn't follow quite exactly how you said, but close enough.) It's 200 words because there's no way I could've managed it properly in 100.
WARNING! - spoilers for 'No Man's Land'
Fallen - PG-13
Seconds after the bullet hits, I'm in a sort of limbo; to my right, I see Horatio staring, yelling for me to come back and to my left are two other people, two that I thought I'd never see again, urging me to listen to Horatio.
"Eric!"
"It's not time for you to join us yet, Eric! Go back!"
"He needs you!"
He needs me? Who needs me?
"Who do you think? Ryan!"
I'm torn because on one hand, I want to be with Speed and Marisol again, but on the other hand, they say I need to go back. They want me to go back to Horatio and Calleigh and Alexx and... Ryan. Especially Ryan. Ryan who has put up with all my shit these last two years when he didn't have to. Ryan who, despite our best efforts in the beginning, became part of the team, part of the family.
Ryan who I've been trying to hide my feelings from for over a year now.
Without even realizing it, I've made up my mind. As Speed and Marisol fade from my sight, I hear the former yell out "And don't you dare fuck it up this time, Delko!"
#2 - Eric/Ryan - For alligator138 ; prompt: 'blind' (150-word drabble)
What If? - PG
Ever since Ryan got a nail in his eye, his biggest fear had been losing his eyesight. It scared him more than anything ever had. Eric told him over and over that it wouldn't happen, that he was just too stubborn to go blind, but there was still a nagging doubt in the back of his a mind, a 'what-if' that wouldn't leave him alone.
What if he lost his eyesight? He would lose his job, meaning he couldn't pay for his apartment, and he would end up living on the streets. He wouldn't see his friends anymore and everyone would abandoned him.
Eric had cut him off, telling him that nobody would abandon him, that he wouldn't have to live on the streets, and that he would take care of him. Maybe it didn't erase Ryan's fears, nothing really could, but he did feel a little better after that.
#3 - Eric/Ryan - For persikay ; prompt: bicycle
Cherry-Red - PG
When Ryan was a kid, he had a cherry-red bicycle that he'd loved until the day his brother accidentally crashed it. He'd told Eric the story, laughing as he replayed the events that sent him to tears when he was eleven. He never imagined he'd come home from work the next day to find an adult-size replica of that cherry-red bike outside his door while Eric, who apparently spent his day off scouring Miami for the aforementioned bicycle, stood next to it. After a moment of shock, Ryan laughed and kissed Eric, thanking him for the strange but thoughtful gift.
#4 - Ryan/Flack - For talcat ; prompt: 'injured'
Friends - PG
Don and Ryan had been friends since they were kids, so it was only logical that when he heard Ryan was hurt, he jumped on the first flight out of New York to go see him. Ryan was already released from the hospital by the time he arrived, so he went straight to his apartment, calling Ryan on the way to let him know. The drive to Ryan's apartment seemed to take forever, but the relief he felt upon seeing Ryan again made it all worth it.
Maybe while he was in Miami, he'd finally tell Ryan how he felt.

#5 - Nick/Greg - Eyes
In the beginning, Greg was just the crazy lab rat with the cute ass. Although their first meeting had been brief, Nick hadn't been able to get the spiky hair and puppy eyes out of his mind, so he'd kept an eye on Greg whenever he could. He'd watched Greg's transition out of the lab and into the field and had celebrated when he passed his final proficiency. He'd never dreamed that he'd watch Greg get hospitalized twice, though. The first time had been an accident, but the second...
He resolved to keep both eyes on Greg at that point.
#6 - Not So Secret - PG
It had been a mutual decision to keep their relationship a secret from their friends, but neither of them realized how difficut it would be to keep quiet. Whenever they were alone in the a lab or working a scene together, they had trouble keeping their hands off each other. If both of them were on break, they'd meet up in a supply closet (although after Archie walked in on them, they decided they needed a change of plans).
Lately Grissom had taken to giving them separate cases though, so maybe they weren't as good at hiding as they thought.
Last but not least, the Bobby-Dawson-meets-Mr.-Gel-Dummy drabble for persikay
#7 - Whoops! - PG
Bobby walked into work still on edge after waking from a very strange dream about being attacked by ballistics-gel zombies. He was tense, irritable and still half-asleep, and he felt like someone was watching him the whole time he worked. He had checked though, four times, to make sure nobody was in there with him, so when he caught a figured dressed in all black with no ID or visitor's pass, he'd reacted immediately, scared out of his mind. He felt awfully silly a minute later when the gel dummy Warrick and Nick made took a bullet to the heart.
