Drabbles: Christmas lights / Christmas shopping

Notes: For primeval100: challenge 448: Christmas lights and 449 - Christmas shopping. I’ve had to sneak drabble 448 in too - I didn’t get it posted in time to P100 but this one kind of follows on from it…

Christmas lights
Jinx stared up at the tree. She had been mesmerized ever since Becker and Connor had finished decorating the Christmas tree, the shiny baubles catching her attention.
“If she likes baubles,” Connor commented, “she’s going to go nuts for these.”
As he said it, he flicked the switch for the fairy lights.
The kitten’s eyes widened as the lights came on. Reaching out one tiny paw, she batted at the nearest light, letting out a startled meow as it twinkled off and then on again.
Becker smiled, watching. “I think that’s her Christmas sorted.”
“Oh no, she’s still getting presents!”

Christmas shopping
Connor grabbed Becker’s hand and dragged him toward the fleece lined cat beds.
“We have got to get her one of these!”
Becker frowned. “Jinx already has a bed.”
“Yes, but these have a fleecy lining.” Connor sighed. “Fine. No bed. But she does need one of those!”
Becker smiled as Connor picked up a feathery cat toy, dutifully putting it in the basket.
“And this.” Connor handed him another toy. Then his eyes lit up and he pointed to a kitty-hammock which clipped onto a radiator. “She’ll love this too. It’ll be warm for her in winter.”
