In the dark night, three men sat around a campfire, waiting for the locked anomaly to close completely.
“It’s Halloween! We should be eating sweets and watching horror films, not sitting here,” Connor complained.
“I’m quite enjoying myself,” Matt pointed out, leaning comfortably against Becker, Becker’s arm around his shoulders.
“We could tell scary stories,” Connor persisted.

An hour later, Connor had every torch on, the area lit brightly.
Becker sighed. “Don’t wear the batteries out, Connor.”
Connor jumped as an owl hooted nearby. He glared at Matt. “It’s his fault.”
Matt smirked. “You’re the one who suggested scary stories…”
