Missed opportunities
Connor watched miserably as Becker flirted with Danny, watched Danny laugh and joke with him. He should have said something but he’d always been afraid of making a fool of himself if he did.
Later, just before they left that evening, Becker stopped Connor.
“About me and Danny-”
Connor cringed. “Please don’t. I don’t need to hear about it-”
“Yes, you do. As much as I would like it, there’s nothing going on; it’s not me that he wants.”
It took a minute for Becker’s words to sink in.
“You mean me?”
Maybe he hadn’t missed his chance after all.
