Blue Moon rise at Hampi

Jan 05, 2010 01:06

As the last sun set from Hemakuta Hill in Hampi and the last rays of the sun was going down along with the left over light, something beautiful happened on the other side. As we turned our heads, Moon with a slight orangish tint was rising. The last moon rise of the year, The moon that was going to be eclipsed in 6 hours time. But there was something else to this moon. It was also called The Blue Moon Rise. Called so, not for the blue colour but as it was the 2nd Full moon in December. 2 Full moons in a month is as rare as any Blue moon :)

So as we silently watched the beautiful moon rise and took pictures... The fading light became a soft moon aura. The warmth of the stone structures on which we were sitting, with very few things to talk about, a few laughs, soft breeze, and the calm around and silence was an amazing feeling.

One of the many reasons why Hampi can only be experienced!
