Changing Seasons, Changing Plans
Welcome back. (That was mostly meant for myself... it's been a while!)
In a recent status update, I mentioned having hives over studying for the GRE... because I'm applying to Pepperdine University. The one in California. The one based in Los Angeles. The one that does not have a distance or online program.
Are you following this?
My family (the one in Texas) is moving to Ohio (where I refuse to follow them). That leaves me with no reason to stay here much longer, so, come hell or high water (or both), I am leaving Texas in Summer or Fall 2011.
There are issues. I have too many pets for the city, for one. I don't know if I stand a chance of being accepted at Pepperdine, either. The good news is I have a backup plan: I'm also applying to the music business program at MI. Admission there is virtually guaranteed (one perk of being alumni), but if, for some reason, that plan also fails, and assuming she gets in to Gallaudet, I will follow Megan to Washington, D.C. (And similarly, here backup plan is to follow me to L.A.)
Obviously my heart stayed behind in California, and I desperately want to return to my life as I understand it, but the moral here is: I'm getting the f*ck out of Texas. Yee haw and thankyoudrivethrough.
(I promise to write more interesting entries... I'm just out of practice.)
