A firearm was taken from my home a few days ago. When I discovered it missing, I discovered I also had no record of its purchase or serial number on file. The good news is that I was still able to file a police report so I won't go to prison if it's used to commit a crime, and it was insured against theft, but please, if you own firearms or know someone who does, learn from my experience and make sure your records are up to date. Seriously. This is not a game. Know the firearm laws where you live, and seriously consider supporting the NRA. Your life could depend on it.
