Its nearly 4:30 am, and I just got back from the art building working on my screenprint. Apparently Sublime is still the vogue band for weird ceramics majors that come in at 3:30 am to do screenprinting. My legs and back are sore (sore from the late nighter I did yesterday as well) and I havent showered in over 24 hours I think. I'm probably high off photo emulsion too. I came back and ate a bowl of Walmart brand multi-grain cereal and watched some bullshit Pussycat Dolls video and then Run (Run DMC) become a giant and look mean and rap incoherent things all the while doing nice things like helping a lost dog find its owner and having cheap stock footage of airplanes play in the background. I can hear my big bro playing Coheed

I met with my Practicum of Art teacher yesterday at 7:00 to go over my artist statement, cover letter, and artist resume thinking I'd get a new hole ripped but he's actually a nice guy (quite gay too, I saw a picture of he and his partner together, heads close together smiling like you so often see teenage girls do...plus in class a couple weeks ago he made note that it was National Coming Out Day, more on him later) and offered lots of suggestions.

My painting teacher is wanting me to answer why I paint the way I do - mostly straight out of the tube colors, childish, immediate, bratty (his words)...not that painting way is bad, it just has to have an aesthetic. So I need to come up with bullshit answer for that, its mainly because I hate taking the time to mix colors. He wants me to check out the new exhibit in the gallery, which supposedly has a "found paper" work that includes a piece of paper with electrical tape on it (ugly but it has an aesthetic my teacher claims) He brought me a Kippenberger catalogue which I found to be amazing and relevant and breathtaking. This reminds me I need to catch the Marcel Duchamp / Jasper Johns / Rauschenburg (sp?) show at the DMA. Classmate of mine says it changed his life. Ill be sure to take paper to write down my immediate reactions to the pieces.

Speaking of classmates, I'll write about their projects when I get a chance....critique next Thursday, I'll try and get some pics.

At 8 pm was our supposed Kappa Delta sing song practice. It's an event sponsered by the KD sorority in which teams perform songs, this year being one hit wonders. Since I'm a pledge I dont have any pull, but I suggested Whip It, Take on Me, I Want Candy, I Ran, and Cars to have a 80s New Wave sub-theme. "Blue" by Awful Eurotrash 65 was picked, as well as No Diggity.

I'll write later, I need to sleep I have to get up early to go to Home Depot to get some stuff, classmate is going to help me build strecher bars.
