You know, the idea of the National Day of Prayer irks me. But in the long run, it dosent really matter becaus they go to the length of making it seem open and for everyone with faith, and t dosent have any actual effect or anythin, I tell myself...
but then I read the pamphlets they gave us at the breakfast this morning, when madrigal sang.
"Today, we confess our sin of not responding to Your right to rule in our lives and our nation. Too often we have despised and rejected Your will while imposing our own, and we are now facing the consequences of our disobeidence..."
This is a nationally sponsored, nationally respected event, and these are the pamphlets that go out to all of the celebrations..the above is from this years "National Prayer".
"...the duty of nations as well as men, to owe their dependance upon the overruling power of God..."
"Our nation again faces battlefeilds, along with an epedemic of broken homes, violence, sexual immorality, and social strife..."
Its litterd with bible verses, and nothing about this says open or inclusive. And its a national event, proclaimed by the president every year, instated by Reagan.
