Between a Rock and a Hard Place

I just watched some of the presentation by Tom Brokaw about the 28 year old man who was out hiking in a cannon when a large rock fell on him and his right arm. He tried everything he could think of to get himself out. He stayed there for 6 days! w/ only a water bottle and 2 burritos. He hadn't told anyone where he was going, so they didn't know where to look. Finally, after being extremely dehydrated and starving (he lost 45 pounds while stuck down there) he determined that he had to amputate his own arm. Before he decided to do that, he had thought that he would die there. He even wrote an epitaph on the cannon wall. His knife wasn't sharp enough to cut his arm, so he had to physically break his arm. It took about an hour. Finally, he was free. He could barely walk. After all that, he still had 7 miles to walk to get to his jeep. After a long time of walking at a very slow pace, he happened to find a family. They helped him walk and went to get help. Finally, the search and rescue helicopter saw them. Isn't that crazy??
