CANADA WINS GOLD IN HOCKEY!
A goal by Cindy Crosby in OT gives the birth-land of hockey its first Olympic Hockey Gold in more years than this Canuckistani boy cares to recall. On the edge of my seat well before the start of the game, it didn't get any different thru its 60 minutes.
I telephoned my hockey-o-phile Pa in New Brunswick moments after The Goal. Pa was watching the game live, unlike me who was on a 1m15s internet delay, and was able celebrate this momentous win.
I found out moments afterward that CTV aired the game LIVE and in real-time at Yonge & Dundas Square. I would have liked to think I could have been there to watch with the rest of Toronto but you and I both know I would have indeed had an anxiety attack what with the massive crowds there.
With 14 Gold, Canada surpasses the record of the most Gold medals of the Host Nation ever in the Olympic Winter
Games.
I may be dreaming of becoming an American beside my beloved hockeyfag though i will always be a Canadian at heart.
