Financial matters

I am about two-thirds of the way done with my taxes, I think. I was at first determined to fill out state tax forms my own self instead of paying Turbo Tax to help me out (about $30 per state). But then I really just wanted to get them done, because it is getting rather late. So I splurged. But now I'd like to complain that Wisconsin is way behind the times, because it doesn't allow e-filing. Who bothers with paper anymore, Wisconsin? I don't want to be bothered with your paper. I shouldn't complain, though. Filing income taxes is almost like filling out a request for free money. I'm sure the refund will be worth the hassle. And maybe the state is simply trying to support the local paper mills -- a major component of Wisconsin's economy, I guess.
So that's $60 I can't go spend on new clothes. I suppose I'll just have to do laundry.
Fortunately, I will not be wasting any of my hard-earned money in unpleasantly smoky Wisconsin bars this weekend. I envy you people with smoke-free bars. But maybe the smoke discourages me from attending such establishments and, in the long run, will help me save money.
In other news, there is really no other news. I think I'm going to take a nap.
Have a nice day.
