Everyone was very nice to me on my birthday ... thanks so much.
I worked all weekend but had nice days off Monday and Tuesday. I went to Green Bay with Scott. It was nice, and I got to see Little Miss Sunshine (at a decent theater ... with stadium seating, for once). Madison is even nicer than Green Bay. It has an awesome free zoo with very nice otters, reticulated giraffes, impressive lions, hilarious monkeys, beautiful tropical birds, etc. You should go sometime, perhaps next summer, when I think it will be even better than it already is.
All I can say about work is that ... it's a challenge. I get in the most trouble (if I get in any trouble at all) for not taking adequate breaks and not giving satisfactory warning of overtime. Also, I am afraid that consolidation is killing the art of copy editing ... I just hope that doesn't kill me. We'll see.
I am thinking I'd like to take a class in graphic design, if I can find one nearby that suits my purposes ... but if I do decide to take one, it probably won't be until next school year or something. Thinking about the possibility just makes me happy.
In other news, I apparently have poor fashion. On Wednesday, the clothing I wore to work was shockingly similar to a co-worker's. Everyone commented. And then it happened again yesterday. Yesterday wasn't as bad, but pink and tealish bluish greenish turquoise are proving to be problem colors if I want to have an individual style. Which is why I'm going to wear red corduroys to work today. I bet no one else has red corduroys, and if they do AND they wear them today, I'm quitting.
Wausau is lovely in the fall ... as usual. And there is no shortage of things to do here, if you're willing to travel a little. (And if you as easily amused as I am ... driving up really big hills seems to have become a hobby) I'm extremely lucky Scott is here, though, because making new friends isn't all that easy here. I blame it on the work schedule. At least I have nice co-workers, but I miss you all.
