I am safely back in Missouri and before even passing the rickety black iron gate the anxiety settled back onto my shoulders like a damp, unwelcome hug. OF DESPAIR.
I exaggerate, but the palpable sadness of this place has me fighting even harder to get out of the house today to find myself a place of part time gainful employment. I've secured a sewing commission that should provide the rest of my income for the immediate future--but register biscuit at JoAnn would be ideal. I need something easy, mindless with low responsibility. So I can focus on building my artistic endeavors instead of worrying about the dramatics of the workplace.
I had enough of that this summer, thank you very much. I could write a book on office politics and how they exist EVERYWHERE.
I am still percolating everything that this summer signified to me--I really just want to sit down to coffee with all of you and chat about our lives. Suffice to say, I have a direction now--I found my happiness. Now I just have to maintain it. Also we're going to move to Maine. Don't know when and have no idea how but we're investigating purchasing a small plot of land in the near future. And by near future I mean in the next five years.
