A day of surprises
Yesterday went somewhat differently than I expected it would. And not badly. In fact, it was quite a positive experience all around.
First, as I was getting ready for a movie day with my dear friends caprine, chorale, and whswhs, I got a text from another dear friend who is undergoing radiation therapy for cancer and needed help acquiring food for the month. So I cancelled the movie day and spent three hours helping my friend stock up. It ended up being a very nice outing. We caught up on the last few years and talked about all sorts of things. By the time we were done, I felt really good. I'm still sorry that I had to bow out of the movie day, but I still had a good time running the errand of mercy. (Hopefully we'll be able to reschedule the movie for a day sometime soon.)
Then, just before I was about to head out to Lestat's for the show, I got a message on Facebook from an ex-girlfriend saying (I paraphrase), "Hey, I'm in town. Would it be okay if I came to see your show tonight?" So I replied, "Heck yeah!" Then I got to Lestat's and dragondancer515 was already there with a whole bunch of her friends. And later on, my friends Jeff and Max showed up, who haven't been to a show in a long time. We ended up with an audience about twice the usual size, and it was an awesome show.
So, yeah. Yesterday kinda rocked. It was great to see old friends, and it was great to see people in the audience who hadn't been to a show in a long time.
