Do you hate Mandela? Then GTFO!
On Thursday, Nelson Mandela died. That day, Texan Senator Ted Cruz posted a tribute to Mandela on his Facebook page. Many of his followers posted comments in support and solidarity, as is to be expected. But some of them went, well, guanoloco. Here is an article on the subject from Daily Kos.
Despite the slant of the article, I don't believe that most of Cruz's followers are this nutso. But the fact that anyone can believe such things about Nelson Mandela, of all people, just gobsmacks me.
So I'm putting this out there. Yeah, I know I said I wasn't going to be getting political anymore, but this is important: If you think Mandela was a criminal and/or a terrorist, I urge you completely disassociate yourself from me. Remove me from your LiveJournal friends list, "unfriend" me on FB, unsubscribe from my mailing list and my YouTube channel, don't come to my shows, and don't talk to me at any events that we might both be attending. Because you are the worst of the willfully ignorant, and I have nothing to say to you other than "Please stop being who you are."
