Yeah, yeah, I know. Back in
this review of the original inFamous, I said I wasn't interested in playing inFamous 2. But at Gam3rCon, I met Mark Kramer (formerly of the Canton Mudders), and he said that he'd played both and thought that inFamous 2 actually had a better story. This intrigued me, considering the crap-ass Chris Clairmont ending of the first one (my assessment of which he agreed with, actually), so I started thinking, okay, what the heck, I'll give it a shot.
So my sweetie (gosh, I love my sweetie!) got it for me as a very belated birthday present, and I played it.
Damn if Mr. Kramer wasn't right.
inFamous 2 is not just a better story than inFamous, it's MUCH better! In fact, it's so good that it actually makes the sucky parts of inFamous kinda sorta make sense! (And that's sayin' summat!) I thoroughly enjoyed this game, and the ending (by contrast to the first game) ROCKED!
So . . . I definitely recommend this game. And the good thing is, you don't really have to play the first one in order to understand 2. Though it'd probably help.
