I have the internet....sort of

So I just figured out how to pirate the internet from the flat below me. Their wireless connection is called "pimpsnhoes"- real classy. Anyways, I am high on internet fun time. I haven't spent this much time online in a while and in a way, it was probably better that way, but at least I can now comfortably check my e-mail, talk to family and friends, and post pictures on facebook. We shall see how long this stolen internet holds out...

So, I haven't really updated in a while and I apologize for that but I have been busy, which is a good thing in my mind. I spent last weekend showing Katie, a friends from high school, around. We had fun but it was a very expensive weekend! Everything here is so overpriced! But, we went shopping on Oxford Street, to the Tower of London, on a boat ride down the Thames, out to clubs at Covent Garden, to the Tate Britain art museum and on a nice visit to Greenwich. I was exhausted by the end! But, I am happy I did a few touristy things with her because I hadn't really found an excuse to until now.

I had a great Halloween with my flatmates here but celebrating my first holiday away from home was hard. Halloween isn't really a big deal here but we dressed up and had fun anyway. My mom sent me a cat costume so I was a black kitty, not too inventive but fun none-the-less. My friend Beth was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and Paul decided to be the Lion so that made me decide to be "Toto the Cat". Cute right? =) We had another amazing dinner party (we love having these great, grow-up feeling dinner parties where we sit around and eat good food and drink cheap but classy wine.) and then we all headed out to the SU to dance. It was one of the better nights at the SU but I think that sometimes getting ready to go out is more fun than actually going out.

Tomorrow I leave for Brighton to go home with my lovely flatmate Beth for the weekend. We are going to Lewes for Guy Fawkes Day or "Bonfire Night". Supposedly this is the place to go for the best fireworks and festivities. It should be a great cultural experience if nothing else! Then, on Tuesday, I am heading for Vienna and then to Rome because we get a week off. I am super excited to travel now that I feel fairly at home here in London. It will be cool to go to Brighton to see some of the "real" England too!

So, that is all for now I think. I will surely have many updates when I return from my trip.

Cheers!
