I broke my kitchen in Friday night by cooking Indian food. This was the menu, all from scratch:

The two main dishes were ones I had while in Kerala in 2009. I've never cooked fish before in my life, but the molee turned out really well. Of course, deep frying was an adventure, too.
Had the following conversation with my mom yesterday:
Mom: Did you watch the Grammys?
Me: Yeah, did you?
Mom: Yes, I was downloading songs on my iPod Touch during it.
Me: Me too!
Mom: I got that B.o.B. song.
Me: I got the Rihanna/Eminem one.
Mom: Oh, I love that song. I downloaded it when it first came out.
Me: ...you like Eminem?
Mom: Well, I saw him on 60 Minutes and he's such a nice boy. Like a little kid so eager to show off his work. And so smart.
Me: ....
Mom: Oh, I have to go. Your dad wants me to listen to that Lady Gaga song again.
My parents are too cool for school. Sometimes.
