The parents dropped off Vinni about an hour ago and he'll be staying with me for a week. So far he's just wandered around the house in a state of semi-panic but he likes my dogs so I think he'll settle down soon. What will be interesting is getting him adjusted to my schedule and the fact that I don't give my dogs human food whereas my parents spoil him to death with it, and that my dogs only go out three times a day and aren't free fed.

I'm working from home next week and have Wednesday and the following Monday off which will be a nice break from the utter craziness at work. At least we found out Friday that we're getting raises next month!
Tom, Jill and I had a lot of thinky thoughts about SPN 5.19. Mainly the writers' epic fail on getting anything correct for the gods they chose. Plus, why those gods? Why two Hindu gods? Why three Norse gods? For that matter, why Baldr since he's, you know, mainly known for his death at the hands of Loki? I really did not get why Zao Jun spoke Chinese since he's revered in other Asian cultures as well but mostly because Kali and Ganesha didn't speak Hindi, etc. Speaking of Ganesha, what was up with the casting there? Were they like, Ganesha is depicted as an elephant so his human form must be a big dude, oh wait this Jamaican-Canadian guy is available and he's on the large side so let's go with that!? Also, why Mercury of all the Roman gods (and why just him)? Because he was a way to set-up a part of the plot and that's it? Mercury wasn't even widely worshiped! Actually, why did they have gods which are mythological rather than actively worshiped today? If you subscribe the theory the show seems to have regarding the more followers the greater the god's power then wouldn't Kali have wanted the most powerful at the meeting? Incidentally, that whole theory is totally stolen from Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. Basically, the only thing I liked about the whole episode was Kali's speech about Westerners.
I have a feeling that 5.20 is going to be hella gross.
