Because of the blizzard, we ended up staying down there an extra night and wound up going out for pizza and then watching Knowing. It was a pretty cool movie up until the point where it wasn't, as it goes with Nic Cage flicks.
I had planned to spend today putting together the last bookcase and unpacking the last of my boxes but instead I am sitting here in my pajamas waiting for Indian food to be delivered while watching Eagle Eye for the five billionth time since it's all they seem to play on HBO lately.
Oh, so funny story!
Thursday night, I went to take down a bunch of boxes down to the recycling area but when I got down there, all the bins were covered in bricks. Probably because of the hurricane-force winds that tried to lift me and my shopping cart full of boxes off the ground. You know, since I live on the lake with no buffer from the wind coming off of it. Anyway, some maintenance dude comes out and says he'll take care of my boxes, but then tells me I can't go back in through the back door and have to go around. But do you know what "going around" means?
If you guessed walking through Lincoln Park, in the dark, through six-inches of snow wearing chucks and a hoodie, you would be right. Plus, you know, another couple of blocks down Sheridan. Needless to say, I was a block of ice by the time I got back to my condo.
