my parents are in seattle, so i decided to spend my weekend re-arranging all of the furniture in my room. you see, when i first moved back here, i was so out of it; my parents just made all the decisions as to where my stuff was going to go. and it's been driving me nuts ever since. there was too much furniture and not enough room to walk! plus, i had to keep the pc i built from scratch downstairs where i hate going because it's always below zero even in the hottest weather down there.
i'm about halfway done at this point. i still have to move some clothes around and put all of shit back somewhere, but i got my tv, x-box 360, and ipod dock hooked-up yesterday, so it's all good. today, i went to best buy and target and ended up buying a wireless network adapter card and a very small computer cart. so most of my afternoon was spent putting the desk together (i put it together backwards and so i don't have a keyboard tray, lol) and then hauling up my pc + components. at that point, i realized that all of the outlets in my room are two-pronged and of course my surge protector et al are three pronged. luckily, the guy at the ace hardware store knew what all my babbling was about and got me an adapter for $0.89!
so i'm connected to the internet in my room on my pc!
also, dad and i went to see the dark knight in IMAX last night...
i wanted to see tdk in imax so bad but it was sold out forever. in fact, the show i went to was sold out as well. dad and i managed to get great seats though! we had to queue up beforehand and the whole waiting area was set up like something out of the movie with playing cards and newspapers and creepy lights. so at least waiting was entertaining!
the movie only had two previews, but one of them was for harry potter and the other was for the watchmen, so i really can't complain. except, why didn't anyone tell me that jeffrey dean morgan is in there?!
tdk was bloody brilliant and seeing it in imax was even better. my dad and i had a fun time afterward of listing the places where they shot everything. some of them were hard to decipher because they did such a good job of turning chicago into something darker.
i actually completely forgot that heath ledger was in the movie until the scene in the interrogation room. he was that fucking good. so tragic, you know? i can't imagine anyone else playing the joker, to be honest.
also, so many great lines! "you complete me" lol good times.
vinni thinks what i'm doing is boring, apparently. he'll come by and stare at me like, anything exciting going on?! then he sighs and goes back to the living room. i think i need to take some time out to play with him.
ps-this chick kinda rocks.
