hi. life is getting more complicated by the second. le manager is officially gone, an annoying co-worker is head-butting me at every turn because she obviously does not want me to get promoted, i have to work the weekend because of a deadline, and i called-in 'working from home' just so i could finally get some sleep. meanwhile, a consulting group ( Read more... )

If you can handle meeting the clients and traveling, I say take the job. It sounds like more interesting work, at any rate.

i can handle the traveling, for sure. the clients... i really don't know. i've gotten better at the whole social-interaction, selling yourself/products thing lately, but dealing with them on a daily basis? man.

it does sound more interesting but the job i have now is pretty secure. i've made myself indispensible and it's a privately owned company so the stock market going down in flames isn't going to hurt me one bit. whereas this other company is publically traded and can be bought and sold at any second.

there are just so many factors and i really don't know what to do at all. i suck at corporate politics and whatnot. :(

ps-i did send you a v-day card in case you were wondering! but i just got it back in the mail yesterday marked 'no such address.' wow, the canadian postal system is slow. you still live like in the same place, right?

Hmm, it sounds like you already have an idea of where you want to be. So far, your current company has a lot of pros going for it, including the fact that they actually do appreciate all the work you do for them. That's a big thing for me these days.

Weird. I still live at the same address, and I've gotten other mail with no such problems.

yeah, that's true. i just feel frustrated right now because we don't have a manager and that makes intra-team relations difficult to say the least.

i think it was probably my crappy handwritting, sigh.

Oh, man, that's always a pain in the ass. I really hope things smooth out soon for you and your department.

Or maybe Canada Post is just inept. That's always a viable possibility.

I love mail from you! And I have cards that I've been meaning to send, but I keep forgetting to do that, sigh. You should be getting one soon, though, if I have the right address.
