I am 90% sure that I will be getting a laptop for work. This means that I can switch my hours to afternoons and not have to get up early (for the most part anyway). On the flipside, I'll have to work overnights on occasion and still go into the office most days. But, whatever. The flexibility to not have to physically be in the office is always welcome.
Speaking of work, on the one hand, it is going awesome, but on the other hand, it is hell. On the awesome side, I've been thanked up and down by project managers, my boss, her boss, and his boss for preventing a disaster with some clients; I'll most likely be getting a raise soon; and everyone trusts me to make sure that everything will be done correctly. On the hell side, everybody turning to me for everything is making it hard to get the things done that are actually my responsibility and we have a major project due next week and everyone is stressed out about it which is making me stressed out.
For instance, today, I discovered a major error in a process. So I point it out to my team and the manager of another team who is charge of the process. It turns out that this guy made a major fuck-up. But does he have to fix it? Of course not. I had to go through and verify everything he had done. This took hours of out of my day that should've been spent doing something else so now I have to do work at home this weekend. The work is reading over a binder put together by the people who work for the guy that made the major mistake. Have I mentioned that it has worse grammar than your average fanfic.net writer?
Anyway, I came home in a bad mood but the puppy cheered me up and then I went out with the parents and had a bucket load of caramel apple martinis before coming home to mash buttons in an attempt to win Mortal Kombat. In case you were wondering, I didn't.
Now to write some Wentworth Miller/William Fichtner porn.
PS-I may or may not have been drunk enough to sing this aloud at the restaurant. At the top of my lungs.
