I'm not here on vacation, trust me.

Just now, I finally finished wrapping all my gifts to people. I swear, I was ready to take it all up to the mall and have someone else do it. There is just no time anymore. It doesn't help that I have to work on Monday. When I get home from that, I have to bake the red velvet cake, and make dinner and appetizers so everything will be ready when my parents bring my brothers back from the airport. Plus, I still need to bake more cookies and now my dad wants mini cheesecakes for New Year's. The holidays are way more stressful than they're worth, you know?

I had a meeting with my manager's manager on Thursday. It was kind of weird. He said to be candid and honest, but it was like, does he even really mean that at all? I tried to tip-toe around some issues that I felt needed to be addressed. Surprisingly, he took notes on what I was saying and agreed with me. I guess we'll see what that translates to next year.

This morning, I got my hair done. It's almost at my natural color now, and I added in a streak of orange on the right side. I can't believe how dark my hair has gotten over the years. It's seriously one shade off black now. Like way back in our lineage, someone married someone from Spain, so that's where my maternal grandma always said it came from; her hair was black as well. Commonly, that kind of thing is called Black Irish, but there are other explanations for the term. My grandpa had red hair. I always wished I did too.

In case I'm not around until next year, have a great whatever you celebrate and a happy new year!

holidays, fashionista, consumerism, in another life i am a pastry chef
