I'm like the Cubs against the Sox.

I love Matt for that lyric alone. It implies that the Cubs can never win against the Sox, which is the way it should be! I have to wonder how that ended up in his song though. I would go search on his site, but every time I go over there I end up getting distracted by his never-ending rants.

Yesterday, I went to see the Sox vs. the Indians. The Sox lost, but I had a great time. Scott Podsednik made this freaking awesome diving catch right in front of us. Also, Rock the Casbah was the song of the night. Last time that was a choice, the crowd picked some horrible song instead just because some girl was dancing to it on the dugout. Ugh.

So, I was really frustrated the whole day. I had this conversation (I use the word loosely) where the person and I weren't even in the same book, much less the same page. Not only that, but it was like talking to a brick wall. Maybe it's the nature of the internet, where you don't have those visual and auditory clues, but it's so damn easy to misinterpret things and twist them around until they aren't even close to their original meaning anymore. Especially if you're predisposed to seeing what you want to see instead of what's actually there and always assuming the worst because you can't even begin to comprehend the fact that someone just wants to discuss something with you. I'm just tired of being dragged down by people and stepped over. Somehow or other, me caring about someone and wanting to be their friend often makes them run screaming in the other direction with a big, "Go the fuck away."

Maybe I'm socially inept, but at least I'm trying.

Tomorrow is our team outing. I don’t really want to go because it involves being stuck on a boat in the middle of Lake Michigan for hours. The last time I did that, which was in '97, I was so damn sick the whole time. Also, even though some of my friends are going, there are also going to be a lot of annoying people there who I can't stand. So, I think I will just take this opportunity to leave work three hours early and go home because I'd rather not spend three hours puking my guts up, thanks.

music makes the people come together, it's okay learn to play, can you say mistake?, o canada, let's go go white sox
