Some people just don't take a hint!

Well that was unexpected. So y’all know about my random unexpected and unwelcome visitor just over a week ago? And that since then, I’ve been closing my bedroom curtains at night and not leaving the window open? And that in addition to that, I’ve heard a couple of knocks (a 4am and a 5.45am)? Well...

Last night... )

No moron in the throes of midnight testosterone is going to understand that. How about: "Hooker does not live here anymore, I work for a college, please stop knocking on my door at 3am"?

I'd LOVE to put that up but my sense of proprietary wouldn't let me. I could go with 'NO callers please' and keep it simple? Friends would know well enough to ignore it.

I think your average person who thinks they are coming round to visit a prostitute at 3am who saw a "No callers please" sign would assume it meant "please do not knock on my door at 9am, I have been up all night seeing clients" and go right ahead and knock on the door - a.k.a. I'm so awesome this notice telling me to go away couldn't possibly apply to me syndrome. How about "Previous tenant has moved out, I work for a COLLEGE, please don't knock at 3am"?

I don't want to advertise when I'll be in or not, so don't really want to mention where I work. However, I'm going with a less subtle;

NO CALLERS PLEASE
Unexpected visitors are not welcome here
Previous tenant has relocated.

New tenant does not accept cold callers or
strangers visiting at odd times, day or night.

Yeah, I think that's good.

I think the message you're suggesting putting up is a good one, but should Jo's suggested jerk really be that stupid, I think it should be accompanied by a shouted 'FUCK OFF!!' and your door slammed in his face should he actually knock again. Some men (especially the sort who have to resort to hookers in order to get any interaction with the opposite sex) really do need to be told in no uncertain terms...
