I'm becoming increasingly concerned at the wedding theme this month.
It was my parents 25th wedding aniversary last Saturday.
Yesterday, two of my friends got married. It was a very beautiful, wonderful day, and I'm elated that
sapphrine was there to share it. We arrived in Carlisle late on Friday night, were picked up from the train station by my infinately brilliant grandmother and went virtually straight to bed. As my parents are currently in Dublin, we used their house as a base of operations... it was very strange being there without them. I'm missing them both rather a lot.
Saturday arrived too quickly, and consequently we discovered that not only had I neglected to pick up my phone from Selly Oak, but
sapphrine had forgotten to grab his cufflinks. So we zoomed into town and managed to arrive at the wedding venue in plenty of time, picking up a couple of essential items on the way.
Russ looked very nervous. Jen melted that the second she entered the church - she looked serene, radiant and fabulous. The ceremony was wonderful, however I shall ban babies should I ever get married! Two were wailing at various points.
We then rushed back to my parents house, quickly ish changed, then headed out to the Ceildh at the Rockcliffe Centre, once again courtesy of my Gran. After much dancing (though not on my part) and much chatting to people of a similar age and ilk, we left as things were begining to wind down. Gran once again rescued us!
So to today. Well, briefly had a look online, to discover with delight that
Dave had spent his weekend working on some new images. There is a FABULOUS one of
sapphrine and a damned funky one of me too! (These are available in the
Decline Working Versions section of my fotopic site, though it's a password access collection - ask if you'd like to see).
Then it was off to... yep, ya guessed it, Grans for Sunday lunch. I was joined by my sister Debs and her other half Gavin, and all was good. We had a wonderful munch and natter, followed by a brief photo session in the garden.
Strangely enough, my Gran commented that
sapphrine and I were naturals in front of the camera... well, we should be getting better given recent events! Lol.
5pm inevitably arrived, and it was back to Brum. I apologise profusely to those people I didn't get to see whilst I was in Carlisle. I'll be up again some time soon, and I'll have an hour or so spare this time round!
And whilst we're (roughly) on the subject of weddings, there is another one next weekend that we've been invited to. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Botanical Gardens, and all the goth girls and bois in wedding garb.
Oh! NEARLY forgot.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT
goes out to Johnny and Iris!
See what I mean? Weddings, weddings and more weddings....
