(no subject)
i started a week long class today. it's an algebra course for teachers. it is unfortunately everythign i hoped it was not. i mean we do some cool activities, but it is not geared to urban teachers. i like doing the math projects, but i just don't know how to adapt them for my students. i was h oping we would have class in time to brainstorm ways to make these activities more suited to our kids. most of the teachers teach in public schools or they teach special ed... so we are all a little frustrated after just the first day. i planned on taking the geometry one as well next week, but i think i will unenroll. my time would be better spent doing stuff on my own.
we celebrated jason's b-day this past weekend. he originally said he didn't want a party for his birthday (which was july 10th) but since that day, he has been expressing disappointment that we didn't do anything special. so that was fixed saturday night. it was a good time. the cops got called, which is ridiculous because we weren't loud and it was probably about 11:30... our one neighbor is old and lame and apparantly have no social skills because he couldn't even ask us to keep it down.. he just called the cops. miserable old man.
in other news, my good friend brandy got engaged and has asked me to be in her wedding. i am honored and excited that i have something to motivate me to try to lose some weight.
i, like most americans, are sick of this heat and humidity. it's about to start thunderstorming now, though. i hope jason makes it home alright being that his driver's side windshield wiper doesn't work.
i need some money.
