MY BRAIN!!!!
Yeah so I 'volunteered' as a participant in an MRI study the other day (it's called volunteering even though we get money :).
I'm not claustrophobic and I was all giddy getting into the machine (I was in there for about an hour). But the research project involved holding my breath (on an EXHALE) for 24second intervals about 30 times. And when you're nervous and can't move and your ears are plugged and your glasses are taken away and loud noises are being emitted around your head you really *really* want to breathe.
I tried my best to give them good photos of my OXYGEN DEPRIVED BRAIN though, I can't imagine how much it costs them in overhead for each participant they test. So I only ended up gasping for air once. But man. The photos are wicked.
