Global Shipping Program

I have been getting a lot of emails inviting me to join the Global Shipping Program on eBay. I had around 15 items listed that could go to other countries in Asia, so I opted into the program. they said you just ship the item to them in the USA, and they take care of shipping it to that country. It seemed simple.

It took over my listings that were sold internationally. I could no longer offer shipping options to my customers. It was their way only. What was their way?? No idea. I can't even see the invoice. I can't change the invoice to a cheaper method of shipping. I don't even know who or where it is going. I do know that I have people emailing me before it ends, asking if what I said is really the shipping cost.

My last few auctions have been no pay. I have a suspicion that it is because they sent them a really high shipping cost, when I had offered first class mail shipping for just a few dollars. I was selling stamps, and it makes no sense to charge them $48 for express mail on a $20 sale. If it goes over $250, I charge them for the express.

I tried to opt out of that GSP, but it said that it would take 72 hours to not go on my listings, and the active listings would still have it to the end. I notified all the bidders who were on the listings, that I was cancelling the auctions, and would wait a few days and then put them back on.

The GSP is not eBay, but a third party of theirs. Right now, I am not recommending it. It seems to have scared off my customers.
