I work M-F, 8 AM to 4:30 PM at Phil Wood & Co. They are a bike parts manufacturing plant in San Jose, CA. They have been around for 36 years, starting from 1971. My grandfather, Phil Wood, decided to start a company because he was not satisfied with the hubs and bearings he was used to dealing with in the bicycle industry. I am the editor, which means I deal with the company literature (i.e. catalogues, price lists, instruction manuals, etc.) I am also the tech guy, in a manner of speaking.
Today is Friday, TGIF. It is almost lunch time.
This week we finalized our 2008 consumer catalogue. It looks pretty neat, I set it up in 8½x14 legal size, folded in half, booklet style. The hard part was the formatting - page 1 is the right column of the first page, but the left column of the second page, and so on to the bottom, then the opposite side goes up from there, so the left side of page 1 is the last page, and so on. Tables and multiple sized fonts and borders were also quite an eyesore. I do not think there is any easier way, but if you can think of something, let me know. I suppose it might be easier in Publisher than in Word, but then again, maybe not.
