I'd planned to make a hop over to New Zealand and check in with Karl and Harry, but a friend of the family needed some help and Rebecca and I went to help her out. Her husband is out of town, and instead of waiting for its due-date, their baby decided to come a month early. Jackson couldn't get home in time, so I stood in as a substitute dad. If you've never witnessed the birth of a child, you've missed an incredible miracle. Their son was born during the night after a long day of labour for his mother. Thankfully Denise is a trooper and made it through without a hitch. I'm sure the pain meds helped, too.

Rebecca is now in baby love and I'm seeing a look in her eyes that I recognise from a few years ago. I'm not sure if I'm ready for another child, honestly. Life with Sophia and Klaus is incredible, wonderful and insane as it is. Would adding another child into our family add to the dynamics, cause problems or make us an oddly even numbered family of five? All burning questions that seem to be boiling, but will be taken off the burner while I film next year.

It wouldn't work to have to wonder if I'll miss a birth because of filming one movie or the next. I don't want to worry about Rebecca going into labour while in a foreign country, either.

Apparently I think too much after the sun rises, too. Off to take Sophia to pre-school. We're trying something new this year.
