The Boat Race!
Today was the 160th annual University Boat Race, between Oxford University Boat Club (dark bkues) and Cambridge University Boat Club (light blues). It is very much a British tradition and is an important one for British international rowing; the rowers are 'Blues', top sportsmen at their respective universities who often go on to compete at European,Olympic and World championships. Two of them in the Oxford boat are studying at the college Jay will be attending (fingers crossed!)
Obviously we supported Oxford, and were delighted to see them win convincingly! Sadly there was a clash of oars and Cambridge lost their stroke which cost them the race, but it was ruled in Oxford's favour (no foul) and so the Dark Blues lifted the trophy.
If all goes well in the summer exams, Jay will be cheering on her university next year!
