At our church I serve in the 5th-6th grade classroom and one of the helpers is pretty much exactly like what John Winchester would be if he were a Christian and worked in children's ministry. (I know, two things that will never happen.) He's ex-military, which includes the haircut and stance and voice, and can have twenty small boys quiet and listening faster than practically anyoine I've ever seen. He's an absolute stickler for respect and comes up with some fiendishly clever ways to keep the kids in line. Of those, my favourite is probably making a girl sit in between every boy during the teaching time. Thankfully, at this age, they're still convinced the opposite sex has cooties, so it cuts down amazingly on the level of whispering and rough-housing. I was watching him deal with an altercation last Sunday and all of a sudden the thought flashed through my head, "He's John Winchester. Sweet Valar above, I'm working with a John Winchester!"
