This is probably not going to be the most interesting entry ever, but I wanted to just write something to keep myself up a couple more minutes. Plus get all those pictures of "Steve" away from the top of the page. ;)
We just had a fantastic week at CMI (a Salvation Army music camp, if I haven't told you about it) - it was really interesting being at that camp after CBLI, since it was a lot of the same things (mostly physical like the food and lodging and stuff) but different people and programs. Definitely a good week though; this year I'm really being taught to be teachable and willing to learn from whatever God sends my way, which I think is a very cool thing to be learning.
I have quite a few pictures, but they're all pretty random because I had to try to take some official-ish ones for the camp, so I got a lot of pictures of people I don't really know doing things I wasn't always involved in! But here is one of my favorites:
And here is why:
The first Sunday we had a staff vs. student women's softball game. Usually there are a lot of sporty people playing, and people like me just are spectators. But then Amy and Laura had decided to participate in allllllll the sports just for fun this year, so we went down there, and it turned out that ONLY Amy and Laura were planning to play (except for two other girls who were going to be late). So in order that we wouldn't have to forfeit, we recruited 6 completely random girls to play (plus I played!). It was ridiculous - we didn't have time to change, so even the few girls who had played softball before (EVER) were wearing jeans and flip-flops, so a lot of us had to play barefoot. And then there were 5 of us who had NEVER ever played softball, and really had no idea how the game went! But it was fantastic - we were the ragamuffin team, so we cheered and laughed like crazy, running around bases barefoot, and not knowing who to throw the ball to if and when we caught it. We were probably the most hilarious and enthusiastic softball team ever! And then we actually won! :D It was super awesome, definitely one of the highlights of my week. :)
