Challenge #1: organize it!

May 20, 2012 16:54

In case you've missed it, violetvale is hosting some challenges to get us inspired and motivated. The first one was to find something that needed organizing ... and organize it.

Here's where I admit that I'm not always that great at reading directions. Like the bit about "post pictures of your project by midnight on May 19th."

Oops.

My project of choice is ( Read more... )

challenge, organization

Ooh, good choice! I have a horrible pile of recipes, too, that could use some fixin'. Perhaps you will inspire me to tackle it.

If I was to do this project, I would be organising computer files. Because I don't cut things out of magazines; I save obsessively off the internets.

I'm scared to store things on teh interwebs/computer. Like, I'm paranoid that pinterest will disappear and I will never remember all those beautiful things I want to make!

I've contemplated, once I have more room (and a working printer *fume*), printing out and filing at least the recipes that I try and like. My Bento recipe database was awesome because I could search by keyword and so forth, but said database is on the hard drive in my broken computer. Dan eventually is going to take the hard drive out and put it in our external hard drive, so I haven't lost anything, but it IS annoying to not have access to it in the meantime!

I like using binders with plastic sheets. Easy to wipe clean! ;-)

LOL at myself! I started reading this post from the bottom up on my friends page, and for some reason concluded it belonged to someone else. I was so surprised to find it belonged to you! M., you just didn't seem to be the sort of gal I would have supposed would have let your unfiled paper recipe clippings climb to an 8-inch stack (albeit a neat stack). You warm my heart!

The majority of them ARE in the right folder... but you know how hard it is to search through an entire folder of dessert recipes looking for that one brownie that I made that time three years ago? Yeah.

Yeah, I don't like digital recipes. The more covered in food stains they are, the better - and I like to add notes each time I make something.
