So sad. My play is finished. Feels like Abigail has died.
But I've never had a play where I thought the last night was best, so that was good. And it really was wonderful to perform. I've had 2 good reviews now! Abigail was also "convincingly and connivingly played" by yours truly. So yay! And everyone was so sweet about it too. Overall it was a terrific cast; we never managed a final afterparty, tragically, just because striking the set took so long- we didn't get out from the theatre till 12.30. But got some chips and managed to hastily hand out wine and cards. Very anticlimactic.
Lots of friends came to see it and family, for which I am eternally grateful. It's not really an enjoyable play though so people's reactions were v funny! I mean, I understood because I crouched at the back of the stage during the final scenes and sobbed right up to the curtain call. It's not a laugh-a-minute production! But it was received well, and God I miss it so much.
Mum's v broken. :( Slipped a disc in her back, which is a reason I'm not keen on going to bed because she's in the spare room screaming without warning. Poor Mum. Hopefully she's being fixed tomorrow. It's horrible.
Now I hopefully have some drama workshops for jobs this week along with the first Macbeth meeting. But it's not the same! Horrible feeling Love's Labour's Lost has been cast too. I'm all for finding more acting gigs now and all the Crucible lot came on Facebook this evening (for lack of their traditional play-doing, of course) and said much the same. *cries* Miss our play!
