DouzoWhat your character can offer: Sasuke is a very quick study when it comes to ninja-related abilities. Considered a genius and a prodigy, Sasuke also shows great proficiency with the Uchiha clan's signature fire and weapon-based techniques. The sharingan, a bloodline limit that only appears in members of the Uchiha clan, grants him a variety of advantages in battle including be able to read an opponent's moves. Branded with a curse seal, it allows him a brief surge in strength and speed when active. The over usage leaves him exhausted afterwards. But his true ace is the technique that was taught to him by Kakashi, the chidori, which is concentrated chakra used as a weapon.
What items will they be bringing with them? Since I am taking him from a point directly after a battle, his weapon stores will be a little depleted. But I'll mention them anyway. He carries shuriken and kunai with him in his weapon pouch and shuriken holder (strapped to his back and leg).
Third-Person Sample:
Sasuke had won. He stood over Naruto's body, feeling an odd sense of indecisiveness. Was he dead? No. Yet, the dark-haired avenger wasn't sure if he was relieved or angry that his rival and closest friend was incapacitated at his feet. He stared down at the other boy. His headband symbolically slashed and discarded beside the blond's head. The moron had actually been able to scratch his forehead.
"Naruto..." Sasuke started, staring down at the form of his former teammate. He paused, his eyes focused on the blond. "I..." But the first drops of rain interrupted whatever he had planned on saying. Sasuke looked numbly to the skies for answers, not really expecting a reply. The heavy wetness plastering his dark hair to the pale skin on his face. It ran down his cheeks like tears and thoroughly soaked him to his bones.
Sudden, stinging pain shot through his upper arm, Sasuke wincing at the intense pain. The Uchiha coughed, blood spattering the ground just above the blond's head. He fell to his knees, finding himself face to face with Naruto. Sasuke studied the blonde with a tinge of sadness. He knew this might be the last time he ever saw the other genin. But would he kill his closest friend for the Mangekyō Sharingan? It was true that he had gone into this fight for the kill.
Sasuke pulled himself together well enough to leave the Valley of the End, intending to never return. He was forever severing the bonds that weakened him, held him back from gaining enough power to defeat his brother. That's all that mattered. It was his purpose in life. Orochimaru had reminded him of that purpose, waking him from his naive dream of a future with comrades drunk with the assurance of peace. He could see that now. That the village was only holding him back.
Memories flooded over his mind, his thinking lethargic and slow. He was barely minding where he was going, where his next step landed. His father, mother, even Itachi in the days he remembered bitterly as good memories flashed before his eyes. Sasuke continued forward on his own path, even as the next memories that followed were of his parents' dead faces.
Itachi's last words to him replayed in his mind; 'You too, can awaken the same Mangekyō Sharingan as me. But, there is a requirement.' The rain was still hitting Sasuke's face, but he refused to acknowledge it. Itachi's voice continued to play in his head; 'You must kill... Your closest friend.' Why hadn't he killed Naruto? Taken his chance?
Because... Sasuke's determination solidified in that moment. He would not be Itachi's puppet. Sasuke's whole demeanor changed, his slow, dragging walk tightening and becoming more confident. The avenger would gain power in his own way, surpass Itachi in his own way. That path did not include the Leafs, team 7, or the silly dream he had woken from. After all, the future was not where his dream was. His dream was in the past, where it would aways be.
First-Person Sample: Sasuke isn't what you'd consider talkative. So although my first person is a voice post set in Discedo, I'm including a second, more-traditional first person (also set in Discedo). Hope that's all right... ?
[Voice Post][Japanese]
[Sasuke's voice is distant, like the communicator was clicked on accidentally]
...What? This has to be some sort of genjutsu... my... my chakra is not...
[An aggravated sound, as his attention turns back to the communicator and his voice gains an impatient edge and some volume.]
Explain why I'm here and how to get back. Now.
--
The last thing I remember is walking into the woods. Away from an unconscious Naruto. Away from Konoha. And away from the dreams that had distracted me from my true purpose.
The darkness of the trees encircled me, but now I find myself somewhere I have never seen before. This ruinous grime of a city doesn't scare me so much as confuse me. How did I get here?
I check my weapons stores and take an internal assessment of my status. Nothing has changed from before entering the woods. My thumb runs over something that produces an audible click.
"What?" My first utterance in this unknown place sounds loud in the silence. The area feels too surreal to me, and my first thought is that it is an illusion. Have reinforcements from the leaf arrived? "This has to be some sort of genjutsu..." My voice trails off when I realize something shocking. "My... my chakra..." How could this happen? I try several times to unleash a jutsu. Nothing. Even the power I had gained before finding myself here is gone. I can no longer feel the curse seal. It is no better than a decoration in my current state.
My frustration is audible, as I finally snatch up the odd communication device, and rip the note off. I don't care what it says. The most important thing is figuring out a way back. I don't have time to wait around here while Orochimaru is expecting me. I need to get back. I need that power.
"Explain why I'm here and how to get back. Now." My urgency slips into my voice unbidden, and even I cringe at the sound of it. But it can't be helped. I feel panicked at the loss of my chakra and new surroundings, but like hell I'm going to make myself a sitting duck. On alert, I find a place to disappear into the shadows. Ninjutsu and genjutsu are out, but I still have my taijutsu.
