Anniversary Shenanigans and Activity Check Reminder
As the lovely paperskin mentioned, January 30th is beyondtherift's 3 year anniversary! I can't believe it has been 3 years, but it could not have survived all this time if it weren't for all the amazing people who have ever and who still are playing here. Thank you to all of you! You have made something amazing, and I appreciate all your commitment and time and love that you pour into this game.
What better way to celebrate our anniversary than a mini disaster? On the 30th (it will be posted on the 28th but 30th canon time), Chicago will be hit with a supernaturally massive, impossible snowstorm of doom. In a short period so many may be stranded in various locations, the city will be several feet deep in snow and the heaviness of this snow will stop electricity from running across the city.
This will last for three days in game time before the sun returns and starts to melt away the snow again.
What does this mean for your character? Do they have to sit around and do nothing? No, they will be trapped wherever you want them to be (supermarket, home, the mall, a museum, the library, a bar, the Tower, etc.), but there are plenty of shenanigans that can occur thanks to the supernatural. There could be a muse trapped with your character so everyone breaks into song/dance/poems together. There could be an item around that makes everyone 'get high' against their will or there could be a glays in a group that decides to make everyone feel gleeful/horny/in-love/angry/etc. The Rift could see fit to throw a monster at trapped individuals.
The possibilities are limitless, and these are only a few suggestions that you could use to start your threads in the post. It can be funny, action-filled, angsty, fun, or anything else with plenty of room for developing CR as people are bonded together forcibly by the snow. Obviously, you don't have to participate if you don't want to. There aren't mandatory plots here. Your character could be invisirifted for this time or assumed to have experienced it along with everyone else.
