We do have a rule that asks that every tag be a paragraph long. We haven't reenforced it, but I wanted to remind everyone of that rule. Five sentences is the basic guideline if you're not sure what qualifies as a paragraph. I'm pretty lenient about it. :) Four sentences would probably work as well.
It's okay to have the ocassional three or two sentence tag, but they should not make up the majority of the tags you're giving. If you're not sure how to add another sentence in, try to add in what the character may be thinking/feeling or doing at the time. They could simply be rubbing their hands together or scratching the head or thinking about the past or examining the area around them. We're a prose heavy comm, which is why the rule is set in place. This does not mean you need paragraphs or 50 sentences per tag but do keep in mind that 4-5 sentences is the goal.
