Ashleigh
Everyone please take a moment to pray for the family and friends of Ashleigh Webster, who committed suicide yesterday. Even if you didn't know her, even if you didn't like her (which I have a hard time imagining), please pray for those of us she left behind. She was one of my good friends, and I've known her for years.
We don't know why she did it, and we probably never will. She asked me last Sunday to please pray for her family, but she didn't tell me why, and that may or may not have had anything to do with it. But she seemed like she had everything to live for: she was pretty, she was smart, and she was successful. What's more, she knew what she wanted out of life - she was a good writer and a good model, and she wanted to do both forever.
This isn't supposed to make you sad, although my guess is it probably will. But Ashleigh is a perfect example of a person who had an untold burden on her and kept smiling - and it killed her.
Don't any of you let this happen to yourselves. Talk to someone - I volunteer myself - if you need to.
