You know what 's funny? Squirrels. Squirrels are funny. Why in the hell are they always in such a big damn hurry? Seriously, have you ever seen a squirrel NOT sprinting across the sidewalk, digging obsessively, or climbing a building or tree in a blur of frantic fur? They have one speed, and one speed only-- fuckin psycho light speed.
Even when they're not running, climbing, or digging, and when they actually stopped to look around, their little heads jerk back and forth is a spasm of fright, as if they're REALLY freaked out about something that just happened, or something that is about to happen... except they have no idea what it is they're freaked out about. They're just freaked the f out all the time.
I'll bet, that if some brainy scientist (finally) invented a squirrel-to-human translator, and we could hear what they're thinking, it would sound something like this, "holy shit did you see that - what was that did you hear that - holy crap i'm going to die - holy shit - where did i bury that fucking walnut - holy shit - i am totally freaking out man - what am i doing - what am i going to do - wow i love nuts - oh no i have to run somewhere now - ahhhh!!!!!"
And, that's pretty much it.
