I am in love. With Leaf Coneybear.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is the cutest show ever. When I grow up, Leaf Coneybear and I are going to get married and have cats.
So anyway, the entire purpose of my weekend was to see Rent with two of the original cast members. It was pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. I also saw Spring Awakening, which I ended up being much more excited about.
However, the highlight has to be the Old Springs Pike show on Monday. They are such a good live band. The show was at this place called Spiegeltent (which a certain someone insisted on calling Schpiegeltent...it was amusing) which is a tent at the South Street Seaport by the Brooklyn Bridge and the inside is lined with mirrors. It was so pretty. And the band was awesome. Haha, the opening act was the kid from Angels in the Outfield and 3rd Rock From the Sun. He was amusing.
I've seen them live 4 times now, and this was definitely the best show they've played. The audience was really loving it and so was the band. The last song they played was a Bob Dylan cover (stop now with the hippie harassment) and they just kind of randomly climbed up onto this platform thingy and played it completely unplugged. The entire audience was enthralled.

And there was a little moment after the show when the inner fangirl in me threatened to show her face. I just like the way Tamra put it, when we were talking about how we were just playing it cool.
